The SCD-1 has a large multi-plex LCD display on front, which lights up in light blue.

Some of the segments do not light up. For example, and "8" displays as an "0" because the middle horizontal segment fails to light up.

However, after the unit is turned on for a period of time, say 1/2 hour, the ghost segments function and display correctly.

Is this a progressive issue? Will it get worse? Does anyone have a similar probem?

That was a somewhat common problem on SCD-1s. There were cold solders on the display board. Do a search. There were some really detailed discussions back in the day. It's a pretty easy fix.

The entire display has stopped functioning on my SCD777. Would that be "a pretty easy fix". Everything else seems to work, but of course I don't know what I'm playing. Thoughts anyone?
